STORY: MOUNT FUJI, END OF WINTER
Winter in Japan is the season of renewal and beauty where the clear blue sky meets snow.
The ‘tsuru’ bird (crane), is considered the bird of happiness and a symbol of good luck and longevity because it is said to live 1,000 years. The ‘chidori’ birds (plover) symbolize perseverance as they are known for having an ability to fly through strong winds and high waves during migration. Therefore, it is said that chidori flying among the waves - symbol of worldly concerns - represents human ability to overcome challenges. The ‘tsubaki’ (camellia) a flower that blooms in winter, carries a meaning of “love and fidelity.”... even love can bloom in these cold months.

The 'Rhythmic Seasons of Mount Fuji' is a compilation of Risography prints that showcases the changing seasons of Mount Fuji, inspired by the Ukiyoe style. The collection is still a work in progress and will continue to feature new seasonal views. Each piece features unique design patterns and vibrant seasonal colors, inviting the viewer to reflect on the rhythmic changes of nature and the transient nature of life.
